These are remotely controlled. It’s a labor arbitrage. People in Asia are getting paid a fraction on the cost of labor in western countries, working on-site, but over the internet
Q: is Elad correct? Are these robots autonomous? Or are they simply remote controlled by offshore outsource labor, which gives us too expenses categories:
Expense of robotics manufacturing design, R&D factory shipping parts, full spectrum cost accounting plus charging maintenance service replace and repair of robots
Offshore outsourced labor controlling every fold grab reach motion stack
I suspect both are true. I accept that these robots are offshore remote controlled. Then my next question is at what date and time some of these romances will become actually autonomous and able to fold sheets then, sadly, some of those offshore labor will be forced to train those autonomous robots to take their jobs
Stop me if you’ve heard this one before
- addendum
Reason, I think both are true:
Two laundry robots are engaging in wide variety of actions, navigating tiny double closet room as if controlled by remote offshore workers
Two robots have two sets of controls
A mobility
B arms
C cameras
2025.04./6 Sat I propose these are offshore remote controlled robots, which will gradually incorporate ever greater AI leading to autonomy.
